Description:

X.micans is a large carpenter bee, ranging between 15 - 19 mm long and 8 - 9.5 mm wide. The body of the bee is generally a metallic black and reflects light with blue or green tinges.

Habitat:

Large carpenter bees chew nesting galleries in solid wood or in stumps, logs, or dead branches of trees.
