It landed on a zexmenia plant, but sat on the stem, not the flower.

Yours may be aged, giving the faded appearance of the colors.

What about Crambidae or Pyralidae? For me it is now too late to get a closer look. Take it as a hint.

Looks somewhat like a chickweed geometer, but I really do not think that is it.
