Description:

Red-brown in colour, with white spots and dashes across its back. It's a fawn (young), but will be medium-large in size and could have antlers depending on sex.

Habitat:

Forested areas. Ranges from North America, South America and Central America.

My husband said momma was watching them the whole time. They didn't touch it, but he says they could have!

Very cute!! I bet momma was close by keeping an eye on him. ;-) Very common behavior for white tailed deer fauns, they hunker down while the mother tries to either frighten or draw predators away from the hiding young.

Husband came across this little one at work (he's a Land Surveyor and sees all sorts, but this is the closest he's been to a deer).
