A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Asterocampa celtis
This small green horned caterpillar has fallen from the Hackberry tree and is starting to create a chrysalis on the chair.
The Hackberry Emperor may be seen near woodland edges, near creeks, around buildings, and around damp, muddy spots.
The garden is about half an acre of native plants specifically planted for wildlife. The main water source is a pond that is filtered by two gravel streams. It is on a peninsula by Lake Lewisville, TX.
