Diolcus chrysorrhoeus
I can't remember the size, maybe a couple of cm's from snout to tail? Dark brown and textured looking with two distinct dark spots on the outer shell. Looked similar to a kudzu bug in coloration but was bigger and rounder.

Good you got an ID-well done !. Yes, I see the dark spot on both sides now that you've pointed it out. Nice spotting.
Ooh! Good call on the shield back bugs. I think I found it. I don't think it has a hole in it, the marking is on both sides. I think it's just a really dark spot.
I am not suggesting an ID as I am not 100% sure but this could be Orsilochides species, a shield-backed bug from family: Scutelleridae.
