Blue dasher

Pachydiplax longipennis

Description:

Finally the Blue dashers are here. One of the most prolific dragonflies in Huntley meadows the Blue dasher perches near a body of water and guards it against intruders. It is possible to get close to a Blue dasher especially if you don't mind getting your feet wet. I did mind. That's why the pictures are a little blurry.
