Christine, if only one baby crow out of six managed to survive, then it certainly can be a reason.But here in India, their population is vast.So I'm not sure regarding what the actual reason could be.

Great vantage point to view the nest from! Here in California we're seeing an increase in crow numbers after West Nile virus badly damaged their population. Do you know if it's common for only part of the young to survive?
