Horsemint flowers are an important resource for insects. The plant is becoming uncommon due to over-collection and drought conditions. It is used by local Bedouin as a condiment for tea or as a hot infusion on its own. It's one of the the characteristic flavors of "Bedouin Tea". Called "habak" in Arabic.
