Mullein Moth

Cucullia Verbasci

Description:

Mullein moth caterpillars. Distinctive colouring of very pale grey/blue with black and yellow spots. The moth and caterpillar feeds on members of the Mullein plant family, Buddleia and Figwort.

Habitat:

Notes:

A late spotting - these caterpillars are usually seen June-July, and the moths April-May. Found lots on Berberis that we were cutting in the garden and nearby plants.
