Flower Longhorn Beetle

Description:

About 18mm in length. Head and pronotum black. Antenna long and black about half way from the base. Then, banded cream and black, in more or less equal intervals to the tip. Legs black. Elytra orange and tapering gradually from about the first third to the tip. Abdomen extends beyond the tip of the elytra.

Habitat:

Deciduous forest. Found this one feeding among some Sumac flowers.

Notes:

Very active. Takes flight when disturbed. Spotted along Child's Hollow trail
