Brown-headed Cowbird (female)

Molothrus ater

Description:

Smaller and shorter-tailed than Blackbirds with a stout bill and pointed wings. Female is a paler gray-brown than Blackbirds. She is usually finely streaked.

Habitat:

Common in open or patchy woodlands in breeding season.

I did and I know it caught my attention but that day I was in bird overload. I need to slow down a bit and take more notes. Was glad to get some time in before the tropical storm got here.

Were you able to hear their song? It's hard to describe but I don't think I've ever heard anything quite like it. Very gurgly.
