leaf beetle

Paropsis marmorea

Description:

A strongly speckled tan beetle with light margins. This is similar to the P. geographica but differs in the position of the primary cream blotches.

Habitat:

On epicormic foliage of white barked eucalyptus forest recovering from a severe fire.

Notes:

Found several at Burgoynes Track on epicormic regrowth after fires have severely devestated the biodiversity of this valley. The more common leaf beetle on this regrowth is Paropsisterna m-fuscum.
