Gibbifer costaricensis
Fairly large beetle of the family Erotylidae, the pleasing fungus beetles.
Identified as Cypherotylus costaricensis in Biologia Centrali Americana (http://www.sil.si.edu/digitalcollections...). From what I can find out Gibbifer is synonymous with Cypherotylus - that is, Gibbifer is the "modern" name for this genus.
