Description:

Shrub with oval shaped paired leaves. Flowers orange suckle 5 lobed trumpet shaped. Edible Fruit berries

Habitat:

Cooler temp, Pacific Northwest, wooded, shady.

Notes:

Spotted in Washington State University Experimental/Demonstration Forest.

Guess we are getting warmer. Leaves similar but slightly different but at least maybe can narrow it down. I will start where you suggested gatorfellows.

Not sure about species in your area but, try starting with Lonicera sempervirens or Trumpet honeysuckle. The leaves are joined and perfoilate just before the cluster of blooms and in opposite pairs on the vine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lonicera_se...

Close but you can see the leaves are different. There are two leaves across from each other oval shaped.
