European Starling

Sturnus vulgaris

Description:

A short tailed stocky black bird with triangular wings. They are a glossy brown-black with white dots in winter.

Habitat:

Spotted on the apartment roof on my walk outside.

Notes:

"In flight their wings are short and pointed, making them look rather like small, four-pointed stars (and giving them their name)." Reference: Cornell all about birds.
