Pygmy Cormorant

Phalacrocorax pygmeus

Description:

Pygmy cormorant is distinguished from the great cormorant and the common shag by its much smaller size, lighter build, and long tail. It feeds mainly on fish, often hunting in groups, and perches in trees between fishing expeditions.

Habitat:

Spotted in the lake Orestiada of Kastoria. Kastoria is a city in northern Greece in the region of West Macedonia.

Notes:

Greek name: Φαλακροκόραξ ο πυγμαίος. Greek common name: Λαγγόνα.
