Tricolored Heron

Description:

A medium sized wading bird in the Heron family. They come in a wide variety of color patterns and often get confused with their close cousins - the Little Blue Herons. Non-breeding adults however have the yellow bill and yellow legs as this one does. A Little Blue would have a blue bill and black legs.

Habitat:

Circle B Bar Reserve, Lakeland, FL.
