Description:

This fly has distinctive coloring and veination on its wings. It is resting this morning on a leaf. It has been seen often on several of the Asteracea family plants in the garden.

Habitat:

The garden was built for wildlife with abundant use of native plants.

Notes:

The Bombyliidae are a family of flies. Their common name is bee flies. Adults generally feed on nectar and pollen, some being important pollinators.
