Description:

Small tree with pinnately compound, alternate leaves that have a toothed margin. Red fruit in large clusters on the branch tips.

Habitat:

Dry prairie of section 39 of LBJ National Grasslands.

Notes:

Southwestern Indians used various species in basketry, as dyes and medicines, and for making a cool, refreshing drink
