Mimus polyglottos
The northern mockingbird is the only mockingbird commonly found in North America. It is a permanent residence. It eats both insects and fruit. This bird is a State bird of 5 states, has been used in book titles, and has also been used in popular songs and lullabies in U.S. culture. I truly enjoy taking the mockingbird's picture because it is the only bird I know that poses for me.
This northern mockingbird was spotted sitting in a bush at Crooked River State Park,St Marys, Georgia
