Eastern Screech Owl

Megascops asio

Description:

Screech owls come into two different color morphs, gray (like this one) and rufous. They are a small owl common to the eastern US.

Habitat:

Woodland.

Notes:

This guy was in our barn! Probably looking to get out of the rain. I only took a few photos, as I didn't want to blind the poor thing.
