Mosquito

Culicoidea sp.

Description:

A few species of Mosquitoes are harmless or even useful to humanity, but most of them re considered a nuisance because they consume blood from living vertebrates, including humans. In feeding on blood, some of them transmit extremely harmful human and livestock diseases, such as malaria, yellow fever and filariasis.

Habitat:

Garden, urban area

Notes:

I have been in Africa long enough to have a lot of CKs of Mosquitoes on my conscience. But I have never photographed one before. This one prefered to sit on a leaf, and was not interested in me at all. Good Mosquitoe bevaviour!
