Black-bellied Whistling-Duck

Dendrocygna autumnalis

Description:

As the name implies, they have black feathered bellies with a white wing and mostly brown tops. Their heads have a fairly distinctive dark brown stripe from the top of the bill to the top of the back. One of only two species of whistling-ducks native to North America, in the South, they are generally just called whistling-ducks.

Habitat:

Circle B Bar Reserve, Lakeland, FL.
