Common Blunt-Headed Tree Snake

Description:

Small immature vine snake. Approximately 2ft. Adults approximately 4 ft.

Habitat:

Found along the trail at the ACTS field Station off the Sucasari River in Peru

Notes:

According to "Reptiles and Amphibians of the Amazon: an ecotourist's guide" (Bartlett and Bartlett) the common blunt-headed tree snake is one of the most common and frequently seen arboreal and nocturnal snakes. They hunt small frogs and anole lizards and are commonly seen along trails and clearings where anoles are often most abundant.
