Pearl Crescent

Phyciodes tharos

Description:

A specimen of the pearl crescent butterfly in Belle Plaine, Kansas. Found while visiting the Ninnescah River. Usually private property, the property owner is good friends with the friend that I'm staying with and I was allowed range of the riverside to see what I could find. I was amazed at the number of wing patterns that this butterfly species exhibits.

Habitat:

Found in North America.
