White-cheeked Pintail

Anas bahamensis

Description:

Curious spotting - a South american dabbling duck (surface feeding duck), also known as Bahama's pintail, seen for a second season on shores of Geneva lake; this time feeding and allowing me the shot on that handsome head with snow-white cheeks and orange-and-grey bill.

Habitat:

Seen (not for the first time) in center of Geneva, on Geneva lake (lac Leman). I'm not sure, but I suspect these have probably escaped from somewhere...

Notes:

My previous observation of this species on the very same spot here: https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/15...
