Springwater Dancer (female)

Argia plana

Description:

The Springwater Dancer has a black stripe along the side of its thorax. The male is typically blue, but some can be violet. The female is pale brown. I think this is probably the female Springwater Dancer as it was seen nearby the male in the last spotting.

Will be glad to look. I am locked in again for a few "very cold windy Texas winter days." :)

Hehehe Joanne, you shouldn't have said that! I have 35 unidentified damselflies/dragonflies from Central America that you could test your skills on!! They are altogether, about 5 pages back on the 'unidentified' tag on my page...

Would you like to take a look in a spare moment? I'd be most grateful...
Thanks for your appreciation of my spottings. It's really a joy to be out in nature searching them out!

Hi Pam; I am Joanne (aka gator) I am working slowly on learning damselflies. They come in so many colors with tiny details. I really enjoy your travels and all those "lucky" shots. :)

Yes gatorfellows... lucky shot. Had no idea that they were the same species when I took the photo! And my name is Pam, by the way...
