Description:

I was surprised to find butterflies in such a harsh, windswept environment, where only few plants grow. About 4cm wingspan; body brown with a very soft greenish sheen; wings orange with dark markings and a short white stripe towards the end of each forewing; spots on fore- and hindwings blue with dark outline.

Habitat:

Island (Isla del Sol) on Lake Titicaca, at about 4000m above sea level.
