Red Rump Parakeet

Psephotus haematonotus

Description:

This is our pet red rump parakeet. They are from southeast Australia. The males are brightly colored and females dull. We have a male, and his name is Pipa. He loves to have his head pet and massaged, and sit on our shoulder. My kids are great with him. He has a very beautiful chirp song.

Another Aussie native. The guy is beautiful, and it's a species I've never seen before. I'm so happy to know he has a loving family and safe home :-)
