Blue Dasher Dragonfly (female)

Pachydiplax longipennis

Description:

Paired yellow stripes on the dorsal side of the first 8 abdominal segments, but not on 9 and 10. The end of the abdomen has a yellowish white tuft in the center. The eyes retain a half red brown, half blue grey color of immatures.

Habitat:

Wildlife habitat garden with ponds and many native plants.

Notes:

Today this dragonfly did not dash away and allowed me to photograph it in several views.
