Description:

Eastern Pondhawks often perch on the ground near still water. Adults feed on other flying insects often as large as themselves including other dragonflies, damselflies, butterflies & craneflies. Nymphs prey on aquatic invertebrates.

Habitat:

Eastern North America - southwest to Texas. Ponds.
