White-tailed Deer

Odocoileus virginianus

Description:

Medium to large deer with dark brown upper body and white lower body, muzzle and tail. Commonly sighted and abundant in this area.

Habitat:

Woodland edges, grassy areas, fielkds, and suburban edges.

Notes:

This deer was not at all frightened as can be seen in these photos. She took a step forward on the second picture and stopped, after a few minutes she calmly moved away a few yards into the trees.
