Description:

At this stage this species is proportional and colored with alternating bands of color. Ground color is brown to tan while the bands appear from reddish to rust and possibly other colors from snake to snake. This species has a high rate of color variation.

Habitat:

Usually found near bodies of water such as lakes, ponds, rivers and streams. Frequently common where found.

Notes:

This snake will bite if handled.
