A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Sylvilagus floridanus
The eastern cottontail can be found in meadows and shrubby areas in the eastern and south-central United States, southern Canada, eastern Mexico, Central America and northernmost South America.
Photos taken in a suburban backyard through a window. The rabbit on the left hand side of the third photo is the same one seen in the first two photos. I am not sure how or why the cheeks look so dark when viewing the rabbit from the front but not from the side (this is not a trick of lighting. The markings really seemed to fade as it turned it's head.)
