Yes, the bears are not the only ones that eat these berries. But their popularity lies mainly in the fact that they ripen late and stay on the plants into the winter. They are not the tastiest berries in the woods as they are a bit mealy and have a rather tasteless pulp. Plus the seeds are large and very hard.
