Habitat:

Underneath pine trees in thick pine needle litter.

Notes:

There are a neat saprophytic plant. Lacking any chlorophyll they cannot do photosynthesis, but rely on dead and decaying matter for nutrition similar to many bacteria and fungi species.

Thanks Angel. I have known about these plants for a long time, but haven't been in their habitat in the right time of year before. It was my first time seeing this plant and I was pretty excited!
