Very distinct large green leaves with clusters of bright purple berries along the stem.
I seen beauty berry growing well in dry sandy areas and in shady hammocks.
The berries are highly astringent but are made into wine and jelly. It is also a folk remedy to repel mosquitoes and ticks. Crush the leaves and rub them on your skin.
