Limenitis arthemis
Species of North American brush-footed butterfly. 3 inch wingspan. Orange/red spots. Adults feed on sap or dung. Hosts: Apple, aspen and other deciduous trees. This is most likely a male as they perch themselves around 3 feet off the ground in trees.
Open woodlands/edge of woods. Common throughout Eastern USA
