Arctium minus
Medium to tall plant that can be large and bushy. Base leaves are very large (sorry no pictures). Upper leaves are smaller and ovate or almost heart shaped. Flowers are prickly (similar looking to thistles) with pink or lavender petals.
Growing near a watersource, trailside. Bayard Cutting Arboretum, Islip, New York.
Bumblebee photobombed my flower picture in image 2. Many parts of this plant are edible raw or cooked. It also has many medicinal uses.
