Milkweed Tussock Moth Larva

Euchaetes egle

Description:

When you think of larva what does the first thing come to mind? Not a yarn ball like this! Commonly described as looking like a bundle of yarn, the larva of the Milkweed Tussock Moth, Euchaetes egle, definitely has some warning signs to predators.

Habitat:

Larvae feed on the leaves of Milkweed.

Notes:

Found two on a Milkweed Plant. This is one individual. The other one was about 3/4 of the size of this one, which was about an inch. I am trying to raise them.
