Podargus strigoides
They were found along the Two Creeks Track near Lindfield, NSW. Their color was such camouflage. Interestingly, I walked the track back and forth and found they kept the same posture two hours later when I returned.
The Tawny Frogmouth (Podargus strigoides) is an Australian species of frogmouth, a type of bird found throughout the Australian mainland, Tasmania and southern New Guinea.
