Melanargia lachesis
Butterfly of 48 to 54 mm with extended wings, highly polymorphic. The male has the front white, with black. The cell of the forewing is white in its entirety, ending in a sharp point. The rear wing is almost white with black spots wedged at the margin, and a few ocelli. The white cell merges with adjacent marks, while in Galathea Melanargia is surrounded by black. The back is white with blue pupula ocellation, variable in the rear wing. The female is larger and the back of the hind wing yellowish.
It lives in grasslands and dry slopes in mountainous areas up to 1700 meters.

They are very beautiful. Found in a mountain area called Sierra de Gredos and at more than 1000 m over sea level. They are endemic from Iberian Peninsule. Later I will post another spotting of this butterfly in a different location.
