Description:

1/2" tiger moth (Arctiidae species) The closest match I could find on bugguide is Hyphantria, but that lacked the distinctive "bunny tail" you can see on this species.

Habitat:

Semi rural.

Hmm...I doubt it is a type of tiger moth, I have never seen any tiger moth so furry! I would start with Flannel moths, perhaps.

I found the same species (possibly the same actual moth) later in the evening & managed to get some better shots.

Thanks Jolly! I wish I could have got better photos but it was 8' up a wall & they flitting everywhere so very hard to focus!
