Description:

Sexually dimorphic (adult female the female is bright green). Range is eastern North America, the Great Plains (except extreme north), south to Texas, and spotty distribution in Arizona and New Mexico. Habitat is primarily ponds. Adults often perch on the ground, and are quite unwary.

Habitat:

Observed in the vicinity of a wet weather creek in Lake Springfield Park.
