Description:

Scorpion of about 3.5cm body length, excluding the 'tail'. Glossy black with large pincers and a comparatively skinny tail. According to the scorpion-rule-of-thumb, that should make it one of the less toxic ones...

Habitat:

Found in city park under a log. The city is Cuenca in the southern Ecuadorian Andes, at around 2500m above sea level.
