So here is what I have been able to find. There is a picture on bugguide.net that looks very much like yours from what I can see. However it is not identified further than as a Tiger Moth species:http://bugguide.net/node/view/580317/bgi...This might be an Arge Moth, Grammia arge:http://bugguide.net/node/view/42006I am not totally sure, would need to do a bit more research. Here a link to the bugguide pages for Tiger Moths:http://bugguide.net/node/view/39181/bgpa...
Are there any more photos of this caterpillar with different angles? I am not sure this is an Eastern Tent caterpillar. It looks more "spiky" to me and doesn't seem to have the typical orange stripes. It also looks to me like there may be more white striping on the sides. I am not sure what it is yet. Perhaps a species of Tiger Moth.
