I cannot find any information that gets Bombus fervidus closer than Arkansas. Go to Bugguide.net

I thought it looked like the Northern Golden too, but the range map made me doubt.

Your image looks more like the Bombus fervidus - Golden Northern Bumble Bee (http://bugguide.net/node/view/23135) because of the lower yellow fur on the thorax; but they are not typically in this range. You might submit the photo to Bugguide for a definitive ID
