Acraea terpsicore
The Tawny Coster is a small leathery winged butterfly which is common in grassland and scrub habitats. It belongs to the brush-footed butterfly family. It has a weak fluttery flight. It is avoided by most insect predators. This butterfly exudes an oily and smelly yellow liquid when handled and is unpalatable to birds and most insects. They are well protected and have a slow and weak flight, frequently visiting flowers and are easily netted.

Originally found in India and Sri Lanka, the Tawny Coster has continued to spread throughout Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and, apparently, Sumatra. http://butterflycircle.blogspot.com/2008...
That does certainly look exactly like the Tawny Coster (although the way the wings are being held seems slightly different, but that could just be the angle). If it is a Tawny Coster, I guess it's made its way to Sumatra now afterall.
