Citrus Flatid Planthopper, adult and nymph

Metcalfa pruinosa

Description:

Grayish with a "floury coating". Orangy/yellow eyes. Some dark spots. Nymphs are usually white with a fluffy/waxy filiment that can often form "tails" and cover surrounding plants.

Habitat:

Suburban backyard garden.

Notes:

Parasitic of green plants but tend not to do major damage.
