Black-throated Magpie Jay

Calocitta colliei

Description:

These beautiful and quite noisy birds come by and feed and court right in my backyard. These two sure were busy!

Habitat:

Pacific Slope of Mexico from southern Sonora south to Jalisco and northwestern Colima, Semidecidious forests. They belong to the crow family and as such are omnivorous. I can tell when they're around because they are very vocal and loud and their call is really special.
